For this week's assignment I found myself in the company of a down to earth Corvallis native and the owner of MILK skate shop, Duff "Milk" Stotsenberg. Duff opened the skate shop, in the summer of 2019 after a 20 years hiatus from his home town. The name MILK came from an old skate video by Blind called "Video Days". It featured Jason Lee, yes the actor, skating to a song called Knife Song by a band called Milk. Though 2020 was a scary time for many small businesses, especially new ones, Duff was excited to let me know the shop would celebrate its 5 year anniversary on the first day of summer 2024. Located at 252 SW Masdison Avenue the skate shop is in a prime location just up the street from Corvallis' only skate park.
